AI Actions: Are AI Actions supported by a third-party?

AI Actions are supported in the Contentful Management API (CMA) so you can incorporate AI Actions into your custom applications.

Contentful uses models provided by OpenAI and AWS Bedrock that power the AI Actions capabilities.

Contentful Personalization AI: What are Contentful Personalization’s AI capabilities?

Audience Suggestions uses the power of AI to unlock the full potential of audience data, offering precise audience segments based on utilizing existing audiences, traits, events, page views, and additional context to evaluate potential new audiences.

Experience Suggestions changes the experience optimization through the transformative capabilities of AI, providing actionable suggestions for content personalization and experimentation.

Variant Generation leverages the current experience configuration (such as title and description), audience configuration, previously sent data points, and additional context like tone, voice, and personalization strategy to create meaningful content variants for personalization and experimentation.

Knowledge Base is the information center Contentful Personalization’s AI capabilities reference and use as a context.

Contentful Personalization AI: Do you use any of my organization’s data to train the models used to support Contentful Personalization’s AI capabilities?

No. Neither Contentful nor our third party providers of AI functionality use any customer data to train models.

Contentful’s AI Content Type Generator is part of the Contentful Services so all you need to do is submit a support ticket as you normally would.

Contentful Personalization AI: How can I learn more about Contentful Personalization’s AI capabilities?

To learn more about Audience Suggestions, Experience Suggestions, Variant Generation, and Knowledge Base, please see the documentation

AI Content Type Generator: What are the sources of the data sets which support the AI Content Type Generator?

Contentful’s AI Content Type Generator is powered by OpenAI which obtains data sets from a variety of publicly available sources on the internet, crowdsourcing, and collaborations (e.g., partnering with organizations to access their data sets).

AI Actions: What is Contentful’s AI Actions feature?

AI Actions in Contentful provide users with a structured way to automate content-related tasks using generative AI. This feature enables users to transform content, such as by translating, rewriting, reviewing, summarizing content, and doing more within their workflows. AI Actions can be configured using pre-built templates or fully customized workflows, where users can define specific AI prompts, select different AI models, and adjust parameters like temperature to control creativity.

AI Actions: Are there any limitations regarding how the AI Actions can be used?

Currently, AI Actions can only be invoked for individual entries, but we’ll soon be allowing you to select and invoke an AI Action on multiple entries.

We don’t support any image generation AI Actions. OpenAI and Amazon Bedrock - the third party providers whose technology powers AI Actions - require that users of their technology comply with their Usage policies and Responsible AI Policy (and those of applicable third party party models made available via Amazon Bedrock), respectively, in order to mitigate risks that often exist in certain industries that could be compounded with the use of AI. To that end, Contentful’s AI Terms of Service, which are required for any customer using AI Actions, include certain reasonable limitations to minimize any associated risks.

Contentful Personalization AI: Are there any limitations regarding how Contentful Personalization’s AI capabilities can be used?

OpenAI and Google Gemini - the third party providers whose technology powers Contentful Personalization’s AI capabilities - require that users of their technology comply with their Usage policies and Generative AI Prohibited Use Policy respectively in order to mitigate risks that often exist in certain industries that could be compounded with the use of AI. To that end, Contentful’s AI Terms of Service, which are required for any customer using Contentful Personalization, include certain reasonable limitations to minimize any associated risks.

AI Actions: How can I learn more about AI Actions?

To learn more about AI Actions, please see the documentation.

AI Actions: What is the difference between Partner contributed templates and Contentful templates?

Partner-contributed templates are carefully curated and reviewed by Contentful. Templates that are contributed by our partners indicate “Developed by [Partner name]”. They can be used and modified the same way as Contentful templates.

AI Content Type Generator: What model currently supports the AI Content Type Generator?

Currently, OpenAI’s language model GPT-3.5-turbo is being used for the AI Content Type Generator.

AI Actions: Will the prompts that I submit to the AI Actions, or the output from those prompts, be shared with other Contentful users?

No, the prompts you submit to AI Actions and the outputs generated from those prompts are not shared with other Contentful users. Contentful ensures that your data remains private and specific to your organization. This means that the AI Actions you configure and the content they generate are exclusive to your environment and not accessible by other Contentful users outside your organization.

Contentful Personalization AI: Will the input used by Contentful Personalization’s AI capabilities, or the output from those AI capabilities, be shared with other Contentful users?

Contentful never shares or discloses a customer’s data with another customer, and that includes customer data used by Audience Suggestions, Experience Suggestions, Variant Generation, and Knowledge Base.

Contentful Personalization AI: What model currently supports Contentful Personalization’s AI capabilities?

Audience Suggestions, Experience Suggestions, Variant Generation, and Knowledge Base are currently provided by the following third-party models:OpenAI’s GPT-4o, OpenAI GPT, and Google Gemini models. We may add or replace the third-party models we use from time to time in accordance with our AI Terms of Service.

AI Content Type Generator: Are there any limitations regarding how the AI Content Type Generator can be used?

Generative AI technology opens incredible new business opportunities and with these new possibilities comes certain risks that must be handled responsibly. OpenAI, the sub-processor whose technology powers the AI Content Type Generator, requires that users of its technology comply with its safety and usage policies in order to mitigate risks that often exist in certain industries that could be compounded with the use of AI. To that end, Contentful’s AI Terms of Service, which are required for any customer using the AI Content Type Generator, include certain reasonable limitations to minimize any associated risks.

AI Content Type Generator: How can I learn more about the AI Content Type Generator?

To learn more about how to enable/disable the AI Content Type Generator, please see the Documentation.

AI Content Type Generator: Will the prompts that I submit to the AI Content Type Generator, or the output from those prompts, be shared with other Contentful users?

Contentful never shares or discloses a customer’s data with another customer, and that includes customer data in a prompt submitted in the AI Content Type Generator or the output of the prompt. Of course, if you choose to add output to your Contentful space and then publish it, that content will be viewable in the same manner as any other published content.

AI Actions: Do you use any of my organization’s data to train the models used to support the AI Actions?

No, Contentful does not use your organization’s data to train the models that support AI Actions. The models used for AI Actions are pre-trained and do not learn from the data or prompts submitted by your organization. This ensures that your data remains secure and is not used to influence or modify the underlying AI models.

AI Content Type Generator: Do you use any of my organization’s data to train the models used to support the AI Content Type Generator?

No. Neither Contentful nor OpenAI (the sub-processor whose technology powers the AI Content Type Generator) uses any customer data to train or improve the models that power the AI Content Type Generator. While OpenAI’s non-API consumer services such as ChatGPT and DALL-E Labs require users to opt-out of having their data train OpenAI’s models, that is not the case with respect to the OpenAI API that supports the AI Content Type Generator. For more details, please see the OpenAI API data usage policy.

AI Content Type Generator: Is the AI Content Type Generator supported by a third-party?

Yes. The AI Content Type Generator integrates a generative pretrained language model developed by OpenAI. If a customer elects to use the AI Content Type Generator, which requires agreeing to the Contentful AI Terms of Service, then OpenAI, LLC will act as a Contentful sub-processor and will process on our behalf the customer data that is entered as a prompt and the resulting output from the AI Content Type Generator.

AI Actions: What model currently supports AI Actions?

We support OpenAI’s GPT-4o and GPT-4o mini model as well as Anthropic’s Claude Sonnet 3.5 model. We also support the ability to connect your own provider through Azure, OpenAI, and AWS Bedrock, please contact us directly to find out how you can do this.
